Most people have heard of salt water pools or bathing with salts for detoxification and relaxing muscles. Maybe you’ve even heard of those fancy Himalayan salt caves? Salt and the wellness industry go hand in hand.
Salt water is great for your skin, among other things, but salt water hot tubs do more than just benefit your skin. Ready for the low down on what makes salt water hot tubs so great? There are definitely a few key benefits to them that may be exactly what you’ve been looking for in a hot tub.
Maintenance
Did you know one of the main hesitation factors when it comes to purchasing a hot tub is the uncertainty of how much work the customer will have to put into it?
Especially with all of the info that you can gather online, hot tub maintenance can be overwhelming. “Add this, clean that, adjust, balance, chlorinate, shock, test”, it’s a lot to think through.
A salt water system makes maintenance much easier. It creates natural cleaners such as active oxygen to keep your water clean and clear. Simply set your salt water output based on your usage and it will keep the water looking crystal clear without much time testing and balancing the water.
Don’t get us wrong, it’s not a hands free system but it will significantly reduce your maintenance time, giving you so much more time to soak!
More Natural
Customers are often concerned with handling the water care products (chemicals) for their hot tub, especially chlorine. Chlorine gets a pretty bad rep. It’s definitely seen as the scary, toxic monster of the water care world; but I’m here to tell you it’s not.
Chlorine is a very effective sanitizer and it dissipates from the water after its done its job. So you don’t have to worry about a crazy residual of chlorine in your water.
AND the salt water system creates a natural chlorine to sanitize the water from the salt, water molecule and their reaction with the titanium cartridge. There’s a lot of science that goes into it, but with a salt water system it creates the natural chlorine for you, the chlorine dissipates after its been used, and you don’t have to handle tons of bottled chlorine!
Also since you don’t have to add as much bottled product to the water, your water will last longer. While we typically recommend that you drain and refill your hot tub in the spring and the fall; we’ve found that customers with a salt system can get up to a year out of the water in their tub without water care issues. You get to conserve water and help the environment while only having to drain the hot tub once in the fall.
New and Improved
We’re super proud and amazed with what the new salt system has to offer. Hot Springs hot tubs have been leading the industry in salt water technology. Over the past 10 years they’ve been growing and improving the salt water system to give our customers the best ownership experience possible; and we have to say, the 2019 FreshWater Salt System is absolutely amazing. While previous versions of the salt water system lacked a concrete life expectancy and were on the expensive side, the new system was revamped to take away these worries. So if you’re leery about what you’ve heard about salt water, take another look!
After plenty of tests at the factory and testing it ourselves in our own showrooms, we’ve found that the new salt system keeps the water clean and clear, while barely having to add extra product. The consistency of changing the cartridge is spot on! The Boost function works wonders after heavy use so you no longer have to worry about cloudy water after your hot tub parties! The cartridge is practically guaranteed to last 4 months and the replacement costs are less damaging to the budget.
